Last night, flipping channels, I came across the most amazing documentary on typeface on PBS. I know, but I'm not kidding--it was an amazing documentary on the tyrrany of the typeface Helvetica. I literally had no idea how bombarded and oversaturated we are with that typeface...the sort-of "be one with us" sameness that it implies.

There are more clips on the official site; check them out! It's out on DVD now; if you can find it, rent it--it's fascinating.

I love this documentary! I showed it to my Design students last semester who didn't believe font could be interesting.
