I have a difficult relationship with poetry, to say the least. I studied it both in and out of the classroom for years, and I've performed and written it. I've won slams (and placed not so well, too), and won scholarships with it (as well as had my work completely ignored and publicly snubbed).
I have few favorites.
Saul Williams is the greatest of those I love.
Here is his greatest poem, in my opinion: "Coded Language."
